Microtra features

Make the scope clear before the work begins.

Use Microtra as an estimate app to explain the proposed work, quantities and price. Build the document from reusable items, add the details the client needs, and share its PDF through your device. Server email and SMS delivery are coming soon.

Describe what the price covers

Separate the proposed service, materials and other agreed charges into readable lines. Quantities, prices, markups and tax settings let you build the amount from the work rather than sending an unexplained total. Review units carefully when the scope mixes labor hours, supplied items and fixed services.

Reuse items without reusing the wrong assumptions

Saved items give familiar work a starting point. Check the description and quantity for this client, site and request each time. A room with damaged walls or a visit with difficult access may need a different scope even when the main service has the same name.

Add context to the document

Estimates support photos, notes, signatures and document templates. Use those details to explain the area being worked on, exclusions or the assumptions behind the price. An estimate is not a substitute for a contract reviewed for your business and state.

Bill in stages from the estimate

Microtra supports progress invoices from estimates. Review the stage you are billing and the work supplied before preparing each invoice. Keep the estimate as the reference for the agreed scope, and use the invoice to explain the amount due for that stage.

How it works.

  1. Choose the client and write a scope that identifies the service, location and work being proposed.
  2. Add saved or individual line items, then review quantities, prices, markups and tax settings.
3. Include useful notes or photos and generate the PDF. Share it using your device's sharing options.
  4. When it is time to bill agreed work, prepare the appropriate progress invoice from the estimate and check the amount.

Useful answers.

Can I quote a job using saved services and materials?

Yes. Reusable items, quantities, prices, markups and tax are part of the document tools. Adapt each line to the particular work before sharing the estimate.

How does the client receive the estimate?

Generate a PDF and share it through your device using your chosen channel. Server email and SMS delivery are coming soon.

Can an estimate lead to more than one stage of billing?

Progress invoices from estimates are supported. Check that each invoice describes the stage and amount you intend to bill rather than treating the whole estimate as due again.

Does a signature make this a contract for my state?

Document signatures are supported, but this page makes no claim about legal enforceability. Have a qualified attorney in your state review the agreement and terms you use.
