A contractor invoice that explains the work
Show what happened at the property, which materials were supplied and which extras the client approved. This small interior repair example separates labor, materials and a permit allowance so each line can be checked against the agreement. A permit line is not a claim that this repair needs a permit.

Remove the permit line unless it applies to this job and matches your agreement.
How to use the template.
- Identify the client and job site separately when the billing address differs from the property.
- Match the labor description to the agreed scope. Use the billing method you actually agreed: hours, a fixed stage or a completed item.
- List materials clearly, identify approved changes and attach supporting records for reimbursable costs through your own sending method.
- Replace every example amount. Remove permit allowances that do not apply and check licensing or invoice requirements with your state authority.
- Account for prior payments and applicable tax, check the balance and share the reviewed invoice yourself.
Useful answers.
Should I itemize a fixed-price job by hours?
Use the agreement as your starting point. If the client accepted a fixed price for a defined stage, describe that stage clearly rather than changing to hourly billing after the work.
Can I include materials and permits?
Include costs only when they apply to the job and your agreement permits the charge. A reimbursement should be supported by the relevant record; the sample amount is not an official permit fee.
Can Microtra keep this with the job?
In Microtra you can prepare invoices with saved items and link time-and-materials invoicing to jobs. The template download itself stays on your device and is not imported into the app.
