Scope the final clean around construction handover
Fine dust can return as soon as another trade reenters a room. A post-construction cleaning proposal needs a handover condition, not just a floor area. This sample separates the initial detailed clean from interior glass and a final touch-up. It asks you to identify remaining construction activity, adhesive removal, debris limits and delicate finishes before estimating the labor needed for a ready-to-use space.

| Description | Quantity / unit | Rate | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Detailed dust removal from agreed rooms and reachable ledges | 1800 square feet | $0.24 | $432.00 |
| Clean interior glazing after safe residue assessment | 16 glass panels | $8.00 | $128.00 |
| Final touch-up following client walkthrough | 1 return visit | $140.00 | $140.00 |
Total (USD): $700.00
Example: this invented handover clean and its figures illustrate scope organization, not construction cleaning rates.
[Identify rough, detailed and touch-up phases included in this estimate.]
[List finish specifications, protected surfaces and residue requiring separate assessment.]
[Confirm construction is sufficiently complete and utilities are available before mobilization.]
[Exclude construction waste hauling, hazardous materials and work above the agreed access height unless assessed.]
How to use the template.
- Inspect after the major dusty work and photograph the handover condition. Ask which trades will return after your clean.
- Map rooms, cabinetry, glazing and reachable high surfaces. Do not assume floor area describes all the detail work.
- Assess labels, paint spots and adhesive on each surface before promising removal. Establish a suitable finish-protection approach.
- Assign work to phases with a clear trigger for each visit. Distinguish a planned final touch-up from recleaning caused by further building work.
- Review waste, utility and access responsibilities with the contractor or owner, then issue the proposed task list with the estimate.
Useful answers.
What is the difference between a rough clean and a final clean?
A rough phase removes agreed loose debris and heavy construction dust so later work can proceed. A final phase targets detailed presentation after building activity is sufficiently complete; define your own task list for each.
Should sticker and adhesive removal be automatic?
Assess it separately, including the surface and residue type. Delicate glass, stone and coatings can be damaged by unsuitable methods, so do not promise removal without reviewing the condition.
How can I avoid an unlimited reclean promise?
State the site condition expected at arrival and the touch-up visit included. Further dust or trade activity after that scope should lead to a new discussion and revised estimate.
Keep exploring.
