Software for painters

From the first walkthrough to the final coat.

A painting job is more than a color and a room count. Keep preparation, agreed surfaces, appointments, hours and invoices together with Microtra, on your phone and the web.

Unleash your potential.

The everyday details

You know the work.
The admin adds up.

Preparation can be the largest unknown

An occupied bedroom and an empty room with damaged walls need different work. If the estimate only says paint the room, the client cannot see the preparation included in your price.

Color decisions arrive in several places

A message changes the trim color after the walkthrough. You need a current record of what was agreed so an old note does not become the finish on the wall.

The job happens across several visits

Preparation, painting and a final touch-up may need separate appointments. Those visits still belong to one project, with a task list and costs that should stay together.

Progress and payment do not always happen together

A longer project may be billed in agreed stages. You need to know what has been invoiced, what money arrived and which balance remains while the work continues.

How Microtra helps

Keep the business connected.

Use the tools that fit your day, with your records ready on your phone or on the web.

Explain the work surface by surface

Create estimates with saved items, quantities, prices, photos and notes. Describe preparation, walls, ceilings or trim separately, and make the agreed finish and exclusions understandable before the first visit.

Keep property and client details together

Use linked property records and multiple client sites to identify where the painting belongs. Keep client notes and billing preferences close to the estimate and invoice history for that contact.

Plan the stages as one job

Hold preparation tasks, status, notes and costs on the job, then link appointments and assigned staff. You decide how to space the visits around access, the work and the rest of your schedule.

Review where the hours went

Record time against the job and its tasks, with staff and billing rates where relevant. Compare preparation and application hours with the assumptions behind your estimate before pricing the next project.

Keep project purchases visible

Enter expenses and receipt photos for business purchases, including paint and consumables. Review job and expense reports alongside invoices instead of treating a full week of painting as proof of a profitable week.

A few useful answers

Questions from painters.

Can I separate walls, trim and preparation in a painting estimate?

Yes. Use separate items with your own quantities and prices, and add notes or photos to describe the agreed surfaces and preparation. The estimate can explain which rooms and finishes are included without reducing the project to one unexplained total.

Does Microtra work out how much paint to buy?

You assess coverage, products and material requirements yourself. Microtra holds the quantities, prices and scope you enter, along with job notes and expenses. It does not calculate a painting specification from the property.

Can I keep several painting visits on one job?

Yes. Link appointments to the job and assign staff for the visits. Keep preparation tasks and notes with the project, then choose each appointment yourself based on the work and the access agreed with the client.

Can I issue progress invoices on a longer painting project?

Progress invoicing from estimates is live. Agree on the stages and terms with the client, prepare and review each invoice, then share its PDF from your device. Record payments received elsewhere so the payment history reflects what has arrived.

Can the client pay a progress invoice through a Microtra link?

Payment links and Microtra card collection are coming soon, including Tap to Pay and QR payments. Today the client pays through your existing payment arrangements, and you enter the payment against the invoice in the app.
