Microtra features

Plan around the people available to do the work.

Use Microtra as an employee scheduling app for staff records, availability and appointments linked to jobs. Email invitations and finer roles are coming soon. In v1, business members can read and write business records, so plan access before adding someone to the business.

Set the working week before assigning visits

Staff records hold contacts, availability, working hours, lunch breaks and time off. Keep these details accurate before building the day. A person who appears free between appointments may still be outside their working hours or due a break.

Schedule a person against the work

Appointments link to jobs and assigned staff. Use the job details to understand what the person is attending, where they need to be and which tasks the visit involves. Review the appointment with their availability instead of treating the staff name as a complete plan.

Include resources that have no login

Equipment and vehicles can be no-login resources on the schedule. That lets you consider the shared resource beside staff when planning work that depends on it. A resource record is useful for scheduling; it does not need to represent another business member.

Keep cost and billing rates distinct

Staff records support billing rates and hourly costs. Time entries can link hours to staff, work, tasks and billing rates, and a week of entries can be reviewed. Microtra does not run payroll; recorded hours and costs are business records to review through your own pay process.

Preserve history when a working relationship changes

Activate or deactivate staff while keeping their history. Business settings and team administration are restricted to the owner or All Access. Finer role-based access is coming soon, including planned distinctions for managers, field staff and bookkeepers; do not assume those restrictions apply to v1 business records.

How it works.

  1. Add the staff contact and working details, including availability, lunch breaks and time off.
  2. Review the job and assign its appointment to the appropriate staff and any required no-login resources.
  3. Check the day as work changes, then review actual time entries with their staff and billing details.
  4. Keep staff history when deactivating a record, and review business access separately with the owner.

What is still on the way.

Email invitations and finer role-based access are coming soon. In v1, business members can read and write business records.

Offline editing is coming soon.

Useful answers.

Can a field worker be restricted to only their assigned jobs?

Finer role-based access is coming soon. In v1, business members can read and write business records. Business settings and team administration still require the owner or All Access.

Does an employee need a login to appear on the schedule?

Scheduling uses staff records, and no-login resources are also supported for equipment or vehicles. Treat scheduling records and membership access as separate questions when organizing the team.

Is this a payroll system?

Microtra does not provide payroll. It supports staff rates, hourly costs, time entries and exported timesheets or productivity reports for review through your existing business process.

What happens to past records if someone stops working here?

Staff can be deactivated while preserving their history. Review the person's scheduling status and business access rather than deleting the context behind past work.
