Treat emergency authority as a separate discussion. Record contacts and the owner's preferences, then ask an attorney to prepare suitable consent and spending provisions for the care arrangement.
How can the agreement handle an owner returning late?
Describe how the owner requests extended care and how the sitter confirms availability. Do not assume every extra visit is automatically included or that coverage can continue without agreement.
What if another person also checks on the pets?
Name overlapping caregivers and the division of responsibility. A clear handoff reduces confusion about feeding, medication instructions and whether a scheduled visit has already taken place.
