Software for freelancers
Let the invoice explain what you delivered.
A freelance invoice should connect the amount due to a recognizable piece of work: a draft, an approved design, a research assignment or a block of recorded time. Microtra helps you prepare that document and follow the balance afterward, without rebuilding the client details whenever a project reaches its next billing stage.
Make room for the real work.
- Fixed-scope writing assignment
- Design concept and final artwork
- Research and analysis project
- Hourly technical support
- Agreed revision round

How it works.
Begin with the client's billing instructions
Save the Client contact and check the billing name, address and any reference they need. Other setup uses Job and Client, with linked records off. Keep the project scope and practical instructions with the work, including who receives the invoice and which purchase-order reference belongs on it. A creative contact may not be the person who processes payment.
See the clients featureChoose the basis for this particular invoice
Use saved items and your agreed quantities and prices for fixed deliverables. For work billed by time, link recorded hours to the job and the appropriate billing rate before preparing a time-and-materials invoice. Review unbilled revisions, meetings and research against the actual agreement; the fact that time was spent does not itself establish that it is chargeable.
See the time featureSeparate your fee from pass-through costs
Record receipt photos and billable client costs for approved purchases such as printing, licensed assets or travel. Explain reimbursable items on the invoice rather than hiding them inside a general fee. Check that your tax settings and document terms fit your business, and seek qualified advice for tax questions rather than using an invoice template as guidance.
See the expenses featureShare, record and review the balance
Check the service descriptions, client reference, payment terms and total before sharing the PDF through your device. Microtra records payment received by your established method and shows the remaining balance. Review document and payment history before chasing an invoice or starting the next milestone, so the conversation is based on the actual record.

Useful answers.
Can I bill a project in stages?
Progress invoices from estimates are available. Describe each agreed milestone clearly and check what has already been invoiced before preparing the next document.
How do I show a revision without making the invoice confusing?
Use a line that identifies the deliverable and the additional revision scope you agreed. If revisions were included in a fixed fee, the invoice description can reflect that scope without inventing another charge.
Does the app send the invoice for me?
Server email delivery is coming soon. Generate the PDF and share it through the communication method available on your device.
What if a client pays only part of the balance?
Record the payment actually received and review the remaining balance. Check the client's payment reference and your own records before sending a follow-up through your usual channel.
Keep exploring.
