Count what is included in a window cleaning estimate

A window count can mean openings, panes or complete assemblies, so explain the unit before quoting. Interior access, upper-floor glass, screens and track buildup can change a visit. This window cleaning estimate sample separates glass cleaning from removable screens and detailed track work. It asks you to record what you inspected and to keep construction residue or difficult staining outside ordinary maintenance cleaning unless assessed.

[Define a pane and record the included openings on a count sheet.]

[Identify interior, exterior and upper-level glass with access assumptions.]

[List screens, sills and tracks as included or separate tasks.]

[Record damaged glass, failed seals and residue beyond routine soil before work.]

How to use the template.

  1. Count the glass using a unit the customer can understand. Note divided lights, sliding doors and unusual assemblies separately.
  2. Assess interior access, landscaping obstacles and the equipment approach for upper areas.
  3. Separate glass from screen, sill and track tasks so the customer can see the cleaning boundary.
  4. Describe the observed condition and distinguish maintenance soil from paint, adhesive or mineral deposits requiring separate assessment.
  5. Review access and movable items with the customer, replace the sample quantities and issue the estimate with the count sheet.

Useful answers.

Should I price per pane or per window?

Either can be clear when you define it. Show what counts as a unit and how divided glass, doors and large assemblies are treated.

Are screens and tracks included in ordinary glass cleaning?

Only when stated. Screens, sills and detailed track work take additional handling, so identify the tasks and condition covered.

How should I quote a first clean with heavy buildup?

Inspect the condition and record the work beyond routine maintenance. Explain any separate assessment for stubborn residue and distinguish the first visit from an ongoing cleaning scope.
