Connect filming coverage to the final video deliverables

A video commission includes choices after the camera stops: edit length, sound, captions, versions and revisions. This downloadable sample separates the production brief from the delivery and rights discussion. Use the PDF or DOCX with your attorney to prepare terms for the actual commission.

Inside the downloadable sample

  • Production brief and filming schedule
  • Participants, locations and supplied assets
  • Sound, lighting and production conditions
  • Edit specification and review rounds
  • Usage, source files and publication
  • Production payments and closeout

The PDF and editable DOCX contain the sample clauses and blank agreement fields. Microtra does not generate contracts.

How to use the template.

  1. Prepare the filming brief and list every final video format or version the client expects.
  2. Identify the people responsible for asset permissions, releases and consolidated edit feedback.
  3. Take the outline to a qualified attorney in your state for rights, revision and financial terms.
  4. Keep the reviewed agreement with approved scripts, production changes and final delivery specifications.

Useful answers.

Does a finished-video package include raw footage?

State the actual deliverables. Raw footage, project files and finished exports are different materials and can involve different rights, storage and handoff work.

How can a producer keep edit feedback manageable?

Name an authorized reviewer, a method for collecting comments and the included revision scope. A changed concept or new output version should follow a separate approval process.

Can any music requested by the client be used?

Do not assume permission follows the request. Identify the intended use and have counsel review licensing responsibilities for music and other third-party assets.
