Show the text, language pair and delivery billed

A translation client needs to know which files, language direction and version a bill covers. Word counts can refer to source or target text, so define the agreed basis instead of leaving the unit ambiguous. This example distinguishes translation from an additional revision and formatting task without promising certification or acceptance by an authority.

How to use the template.

  1. Freeze the file version being billed and reconcile it with the delivered translation. A later source update should not silently change the original word count.
  2. State whether the agreed quantity uses source words, target words, pages or time. Keep the basis consistent with the accepted quote.
  3. Separate correcting your own error from a client-requested source change or additional service. Explain billable revisions with the accepted change reference.
  4. Verify currency, purchase-order details and any prior payment, then edit the document and check the final arithmetic before submission.

Useful answers.

How do I invoice repeated text?

Use the treatment agreed before work began, including any repetition or reuse arrangement. Do not introduce a new counting method after the client has approved the fee.

Should certified translation be a separate line?

Only describe a certification service you actually supplied under the agreement. Ask the receiving authority what it accepts; this sample does not establish certification requirements.

Can formatting be billed alongside translation?

Yes, if independently agreed or included transparently in a package. Make the distinction clear for work involving tables, presentations or a layout recreated from a fixed file.
