Trace the tow from pickup to destination

A towing bill needs to make the vehicle, pickup point and destination unmistakable. A standard transport, a recovery operation and a storage period are different services, so describe only those actually performed and authorized. This sample illustrates a customer-requested tow; it is not a rate schedule or guidance for regulated or nonconsensual towing.

How to use the template.

  1. Confirm the payer and authorization, particularly when a repair shop, roadside provider and vehicle owner are all involved.
  2. Reconcile the trip record with the agreed starting point for distance charges. Avoid billing included mileage again as an extra.
  3. Separate winching or other recovery work from a normal load-and-tow description. Identify storage only when it applies, with its actual chargeable period.
  4. Check applicable local billing rules through the relevant authority, add the issue date and terms and reconcile payments received before releasing the final invoice.

Useful answers.

What is the difference between towing and recovery on the bill?

Describe the actual work. Transporting a loaded vehicle and extracting it before loading are different activities; bill a separate recovery service only under the applicable authorization and terms.

How do I show storage?

State the arrival and release reference and the billing unit used under the applicable arrangement. Verify local rules rather than copying a sample fee or assumed minimum.

Can I bill the owner and roadside provider for the same tow?

Reconcile who is responsible for each part of the charge. Avoid duplicate billing and show any provider payment or customer contribution clearly.
