A drywall estimate that separates board work from the finish
Floor area is not a reliable substitute for the walls and ceilings you will board. Measure the actual surfaces, identify the specified assembly and decide how openings, returns and repair patches are handled. A useful estimate shows the customer which finish is proposed and what site conditions the offer assumes.

Example: this fictional takeoff and all prices demonstrate an estimate layout, not drywall pricing or specification advice.
[List board type, thickness, wall and ceiling areas, corners and the finish reference.]
[State opening deductions, waste assumptions and material handling included in the offer.]
[Identify excluded framing corrections, insulation, painting and work by other trades.]
[Record readiness, access and environmental assumptions; add validity, applicable tax and change approval.]
How to use the template.
- Take off wall and ceiling surfaces separately and identify access, height and material handling constraints.
- Use the actual project specification for board and finish instead of copying a sample assembly.
- Estimate hanging, finishing, corners and isolated repairs from their own work requirements.
- Replace fictional quantities and rates, verify exclusions and review the proposed scope with the authorized contact.
Useful answers.
Should ceiling work be priced with the walls?
It can be presented separately when access, board requirements or effort differ. Keep the measurement basis clear and avoid treating room floor area as the finished board quantity.
How do I estimate a small repair among existing textures?
Identify the repair boundary and discuss matching limits before pricing. Preparation, protection and repeated finishing visits can matter more than the small patch area alone.
Is painting included after the final sanding?
Only include it when it is part of your offer. State the finish being provided and list primer or decoration separately so the customer understands the handover point.
Keep exploring.
