A concrete estimate built from the site survey
Before pricing a pour, measure the footprint and decide what is included beneath, around and above the slab. This concrete estimate separates site preparation from reinforcement and placement so a customer can see the proposed work. Show how you will handle uncertain excavation conditions instead of hiding them in a single slab total.

| Description | Quantity / unit | Rate | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Excavate and prepare patio footprint with agreed base; ordinary accessible conditions only | 240 square feet | $3.40 | $816.00 |
| Supply and install reinforcement to the referenced project specification | 1 specified reinforcement lot | $280.00 | $280.00 |
| Place concrete to specified thickness, broom finish and agreed control-joint layout | 240 square feet of finished slab | $6.80 | $1,632.00 |
Total (USD): $2,728.00
Example: fictional dimensions and prices show an estimating format; they are not concrete costs or design guidance.
[Attach the site sketch, thickness, elevations, material specification and base details.]
[State whether demolition, spoil removal, pumps and testing are included.]
[Identify ground-condition assumptions, access limits, quotation validity and change approval.]
[Add project-specific curing and protection responsibilities, applicable tax and payment proposal.]
How to use the template.
- Measure the proposed footprint and check levels, delivery access and adjacent surfaces during the site visit.
- Use the required design or specification to calculate concrete volume, waste and reinforcement; do not infer thickness from this sample.
- Separate known work from allowances, and explain when a revised estimate will be needed.
- Check material, delivery, equipment and labor inputs, then replace every fictional figure before presenting the scope.
Useful answers.
Should concrete be quoted by area or volume?
A customer-facing slab line may use area, but your internal material calculation must account for specified thickness and volume. Label the quoted unit and describe what it includes.
How can I show a pump or difficult truck access?
List the access assumption and quote required handling separately when known. If it depends on a site decision, explain the allowance or exclusion and how the final arrangement will be approved.
Does the sample choose the reinforcement design?
No. It gives a place to reference the actual specification. Structural and site requirements need the appropriate qualified input rather than a decision copied from a sample estimate.
Keep exploring.
