Software for flooring installers
Quote the surface underneath the finished floor.
A room measurement does not tell you whether the existing floor must be removed, the substrate needs preparation or furniture has to move. Use Microtra to present your checked quantities and installation scope as a clear estimate. Separate the flooring itself from the work needed to leave a usable, finished room.

How it works.
List rooms and site conditions before materials
Attach the work to the Client and Properties details, then record room names, access arrangements and the existing surface in Job notes. Describe the inspection basis and any areas you could not assess. Moisture testing, substrate decisions and installation suitability need your own professional process; the estimate should make assumptions visible rather than imply the software has checked them.
See the jobs featureTurn your takeoff into understandable items
Enter measured floor area with your chosen allowance method, distinguishing material quantity from installed area where necessary. Use separate items for underlay, adhesive, preparation, trim and removal. A commercial project may also need phased areas or out-of-hours work described clearly. Microtra handles saved items, quantities and prices; drawing takeoffs and layout calculations remain outside this workflow.

Check thresholds, door clearances, stair work, furniture handling and delivery before settling the estimate. Record expected labor and material costs so you can review the job against your own margin method. If physical stock tracking would help with leftover packs or supplies, enable inventory in Modules & terms before using that module.
See the expenses featureKeep preparation changes separate from the finish
Discuss a newly exposed substrate problem with the client and agree the response through your established process. Update the notes and the scope so the final document explains any additional preparation. Prepare progress invoices from estimates when the project arrangement calls for them, then share PDFs from your device and record payments received elsewhere.

Useful answers.
Does this generate a flooring takeoff from a plan?
No plan-measuring or automatic layout tool is promised. Measure the rooms and calculate material needs using your established method, then enter the resulting quantities and scope.
How can I show preparation that depends on lifting the old floor?
Explain the inspection limits and the preparation included in the estimate. If removal reveals a different condition, record it and obtain agreement on the proposed work before treating it as an authorized addition.
Can one estimate contain different flooring finishes?
Use separate descriptions and quantities for the relevant rooms or areas. Name the agreed product and finish so a carpeted room is not confused with the adjoining plank installation.
Where do trims and transitions belong?
Give them their own items when their quantity or specification matters. A clear threshold or trim description helps explain the completion work that a simple floor-area line can leave out.
Keep exploring.
