Describe the roof system, tear-off and cleanup

A roofing proposal should explain the assembly and the work around it, not just name a shingle. Download this sample to collect roof areas, tear-off assumptions, flashing details and site protection for counsel. The PDF and DOCX do not supply a finished construction agreement or a warranty.

Inside the downloadable sample

  • Roof areas and proposed assembly
  • Removal, decking and concealed deterioration
  • Flashing, penetrations and adjacent trades
  • Delivery, weather and property protection
  • Product selections and payment stages
  • Final cleanup and closeout package

The PDF and editable DOCX contain the sample clauses and blank agreement fields. Microtra does not generate contracts.

How to use the template.

  1. Identify the roof areas and assemble the proposed system details with the contractor's scope.
  2. Clarify decking assumptions, adjacent equipment and access for materials or debris.
  3. Ask a qualified attorney in your state to review the sample and prepare the appropriate project agreement.
  4. Keep the reviewed contract with approved repairs, product selections and closeout documents.

Useful answers.

Can decking repairs be left as a vague extra?

Describe how deterioration will be documented, priced and authorized when it is exposed. The owner should understand the approval process before tear-off begins.

Are manufacturer and contractor warranties the same?

Treat them as separate matters. Identify the product information supplied and have counsel review any workmanship promise your business intends to make.

What should be said about solar panels or skylights?

Identify who handles each component and whether another provider is needed. A roof replacement scope should not silently assume responsibility for unrelated equipment.
