Software for tutoring business owners

Leave preparation time around the lesson.

A tutoring appointment includes more than the time at the desk. You may need to prepare materials, travel to a learner or speak with the person paying. Keep those arrangements clear before filling the diary. Microtra supports the business schedule while teaching plans and learner records follow your own professional process.

How it works.

  1. Clarify the learner and payer arrangement

Save the Client contact for the business relationship and record appropriate practical details with the Job. Other setup uses Job and Client even though you may call the work a lesson. Keep sensitive learner information in the recordkeeping process you have chosen for it.

  2. Reserve the actual teaching commitment

Create an appointment linked to the job and assign staff where appropriate. Allow time for preparation, travel or materials as part of your own diary plan. Scheduling starts on for Other, but bookings and packages start off; this workflow uses job appointments.

  3. Check conflicts with the surrounding day

Review working hours, time off and other appointments before confirming a lesson. A location change can affect the next visit even when the teaching duration stays the same. Agree the revised arrangement directly and update the diary so it reflects what the payer and tutor expect.

  4. Record the business outcome after attendance

Note completion and any agreed follow-up task without turning the job record into a learner assessment system. If you bill for time, review the appropriate time entries before preparing the invoice. Distinguish a progress conversation from a chargeable lesson when that matches your agreement.

Useful answers.

Does the app use Lesson as the default work label?

Other setup uses Job and Client. Describe the tutoring work in the job title and notes; this page does not suggest the setup automatically renames work to Lesson or creates student records.

Can parents choose a time on a public calendar?

Public online booking is coming soon. Agree the time and location through your usual channel and add the appointment yourself. Check the tutor's preparation and travel commitments before confirming.

What if a learner needs a replacement lesson?

Discuss the arrangement with the appropriate payer or contact, then move or add the appointment to match the agreement. Review adjacent commitments and record the practical change. Your own terms determine whether a replacement is due.

Will this track educational progress?

This page describes scheduling and general business notes. It does not promise a learning management system, curriculum tracking or assessment reports. Use the teaching and learner-record tools appropriate to your practice.
