Software for food truck owners

Keep a useful business record after the serving window closes.

Service at a lunch stop, a private catering order and a festival pitch create different business records. Microtra helps a food truck owner organize recorded sales, ingredients and supplies, customer orders and expenses while the team cooks and serves through its established food service process.

The everyday details

You know the work.
The admin adds up.

A busy queue does not explain the margin

Ingredients, packaging, pitch spending and other costs sit behind the sales total. Record the business spending as well as the money received, so reviewing the day means more than remembering how long people waited outside the truck.

Supplies move between storage and the truck

A case of containers in storage is not the same as enough usable supplies for service. Keep location counts meaningful and check the physical load before departure. General stock records cannot assess food condition or replace your food handling controls.

A private booking needs its own scope

A host asking for food at an event needs an agreed menu, service arrangement and price basis. Keep that work separate from casual counter sales, with a clear record of changes rather than relying on a message sent while you were serving.

Keep the private order understandable

Build an estimate for the food and services agreed with the customer, using quantities and notes. Bakery & food uses Order and Customer. Review your own portions, preparation and costing calculations; Microtra does not build recipes or calculate yields.

Follow supplies by location

Track saved items, counts, transfers and wastage for the supplies you choose to manage. Decide consistent units before entering ingredients and packaging. Check the physical supplies yourself; inventory does not monitor temperature, allergens or safe holding time.

Bring purchasing into the account

Keep supplier contacts and price lists, prepare purchase orders and record supplier bills. Match the recorded purchases to what arrived, with receipt photos for expenses. Supplier documents do not replace the receiving and food safety checks your business performs.

Look beyond the takings

Review income, expenses, outstanding invoices and cash reports, with currencies kept separate. Reports describe your entered financial records, not food production performance. Automated receipt reading and accounting sync are coming soon, so review and enter costs deliberately.

A day in the life

From the first quote to paid.

  1. Prepare the load

Check the menu and the physical ingredients, packaging and serving supplies you intend to take. Update counts and record any movement between storage and the truck using the units your business has chosen.

  2. Clarify a catered order

Confirm the host's requirements directly and prepare a clear estimate. If you need calendar appointments, first enable scheduling in Modules & terms; it starts off for Bakery & food. Arrange event attendance through your existing process.

  3. Record the business during service

Keep taking orders and payment through your working service arrangement. Enter completed sales and payments received as appropriate, and use customer order notes for the private work that needs a traceable account.

  4. Close the spending loop

Record wastage, supplier expenses and the checked invoice for any agreed event work. Share its PDF through your device, enter payments received elsewhere and review the day without assuming recorded sales equal money available to spend.

A few useful answers

Questions from food truck owners.

Does Microtra run the kitchen display or ordering queue?

No. It provides general order, sales record, purchasing and financial tools. It does not send tickets to a kitchen display, manage a food delivery marketplace or operate a customer ordering storefront. Keep your production and service process in suitable tools.

Can I track ingredients as stock?

Yes, using saved items, location counts and units you define consistently. You still calculate recipe requirements and check actual condition. It is not specialist recipe, batch traceability, allergen or food safety software, so maintain those controls through your professional process.

Can a customer pay through an invoice link?

Pay links and card charging are coming soon. Share an invoice PDF through your device and collect payment by the method you already use, then record the amount received. A saved invoice is not a payment gateway.

Where should I work out my truck's pricing?

Compare your own ingredient, packaging, labor and overhead costs with the service you offer, then choose prices using that calculation. Enter reviewed items and amounts in Microtra. The app does not set menu prices or guarantee a profitable pitch.
