Show the plumbing repair from diagnosis to test

A bill that says only plumbing work leaves the customer guessing which fixture was repaired and what was supplied. Identify the location, the completed repair and the test or check performed afterward. This sample uses a sink repair to demonstrate labor and parts, with no assumption that every call-out includes the same work.

How to use the template.

  1. Start with the service notes and customer authorization. Identify the room or fixture when the property has several similar sinks or bathrooms.
  2. Separate investigation from repair when each was priced independently. If diagnostic time was included in the accepted repair price, do not add it twice.
  3. Reconcile parts actually fitted with unused or returned stock. Describe customer-supplied fixtures separately from materials you sold.
  4. Add the work date and payment terms, adjust any earlier payment and check the final document against the completed repair report.

Useful answers.

How do I bill a temporary fix?

Describe the temporary measure and the issue it addressed. Keep any recommendation for permanent work separate, so the bill does not imply that a full repair was completed.

Should drain clearing and camera inspection share a line?

Separate them when they were independently authorized or priced. That lets the customer understand what service was performed even if the inspection leads to another quote.

Where do permit charges belong?

Include a charge only when it applies and was agreed, with the supporting record. Check local requirements through the relevant authority rather than treating an invoice sample as permit guidance.
