Software for guitar teachers

Keep the teaching arrangement clear between lessons.

A beginner learning chords, a returning adult and a student preparing a repertoire need different lessons. Microtra helps a guitar teacher organize the business around that teaching: the person you bill, the visits you agree, useful work notes and the invoices that follow.

The everyday details

You know the work.
The admin adds up.

The student and the payer may differ

A parent may arrange and pay for lessons while a child attends, or an organization may pay for several learners. Confirm the responsible billing contact and practical communication arrangements. Avoid treating a student's name alone as enough information for the account.

A regular lesson still needs an arrangement

School activities, travel or a rehearsal can change the usual slot. Agree each change directly and keep the appointment record accurate. An old pattern in the diary is not proof that the student will attend or that a different time has been accepted.

Preparation can disappear from the business picture

Choosing repertoire, preparing material and following up on a request take time outside the lesson. Record useful effort against the work and compare it with your charging agreement. The business needs to make sense without turning every teaching note into a billable item.

Record teaching and preparation effort

Use the timer or add time manually against work and tasks. Review entries when you assess your business, and invoice according to the agreed basis. The app does not listen to playing, evaluate technique or generate a practice program.

Make the lesson account readable

Use saved invoice items and quantities for the agreed teaching services. Check any additional work before sharing the PDF through your device, then record payment received through your existing method. Card charging and pay links are coming soon.

Follow the costs behind the teaching

Enter expense categories and receipt photos for teaching materials, travel and other business spending. Review recorded income, expenses and outstanding invoices separately. Decide what is billable by agreement rather than assuming every cost belongs on a student's account.

A day in the life

From the first quote to paid.

  1. Settle the teaching arrangement

Discuss the lesson format, location, payer and how changes will be handled. Put the business scope into an estimate where useful, while your own teaching process covers learning goals, repertoire and professional expectations.

  2. Place the agreed visit

Create the job appointment after checking your availability and the external room or travel arrangement. Confirm directly with the responsible contact and save useful instructions so the visit is understandable when you reopen the diary.

  3. Keep notes that serve a purpose

Record relevant work details and useful time entries. Maintain the student's learning plan and specialist teaching records through your chosen process, discussing requests that go beyond the original arrangement before adding charges.

  4. Review and follow up

Check lesson quantities and any approved extras, share the invoice PDF and record payments received elsewhere. Agree the next visit directly and enter it yourself instead of assuming a regular pattern has automatically created an appointment.

A few useful answers

Questions from guitar teachers.

Does Microtra teach guitar or assess practice?

No. It supports the business records around your teaching. It does not recognize chords, grade a performance, generate notation or recommend exercises. Use your teaching expertise and suitable music tools for the learning itself.

Can I track a prepaid lesson pack?

Packages start off for Other. Enable packages in Modules & terms before using packs and credit balances for arrangements you make directly. Online package sales and card deposits are coming soon, so discuss and record the arrangement through your existing process.

Can students book lessons themselves?

Public online booking is coming soon. Bookings also start off for Other; enable them in Modules & terms if you want to use the in-app service booking tools. General job appointments let you organize visits you have arranged directly.

Will invoices be sent automatically each week?

Server email delivery is coming soon. Review lesson quantities yourself, then share each invoice PDF through your device. Record money received through your existing payment method, and maintain your own routine for reviewing balances and arranging repeat visits.
