Software for epoxy flooring contractors

Build a clear account around the floor you agreed.

A garage coating, a workshop floor and a decorative flake finish begin with different surfaces and expectations. Keep measurements, preparation scope, selected finish and planned visits with the property record, while your assessment and product instructions guide the installation itself.

The everyday details

You know the work.
The admin adds up.

The surface determines more than the area

Existing coatings, cracks, edges and access affect preparation and labor. Record what you saw and what the quote assumes. A room measurement alone does not explain grinding, repairs or work that needs further assessment before you can commit.

A finish choice can change the whole offer

A client asking for a different flake blend or topcoat may be changing materials and the appearance they approved. Keep the selected system and exclusions in the estimate, and discuss changes before ordering or applying product.

The return visit depends on site conditions

Preparation, application and handover may need separate appointments. The owner's diary should leave room for the sequence you determine from the site and product guidance. An old completion date is no substitute for deciding whether the floor is ready.

How Microtra helps

Keep the business connected.

Use the tools that fit your day, with your records ready on your phone or on the web.

Quote the preparation as well as the finish

Use estimate items for surface preparation, agreed repairs, coating materials and labor. Enter measured quantities and calculated requirements yourself. Microtra does not assess substrate moisture, choose a coating system or calculate product coverage.

Keep the property and scope together

Save the client, linked property details and job notes, including access, working areas and the finish agreed. Add photos to help explain the original surface and approved changes without treating a picture as a technical test result.

Place each work stage deliberately

Create job appointments and assign staff for preparation, application and follow-up. Set timing according to your professional process and actual readiness. The schedule organizes your decisions; it does not calculate cure times or authorize use of the floor.

Record what the installation consumed

Enter material and hire expenses with receipt photos, then review labor entries against the job. Stock starts off for Trades & construction; switch it on in Modules & terms before using inventory and purchasing features for coating supplies.

Explain the agreed final amount

Create progress invoices from the estimate where appropriate, then review additions and balances. Share the invoice PDF from your device and record payments taken elsewhere. Separate the financial account from the technical care instructions you hand over.

A day in the life

From the first quote to paid.

  1. Inspect and discuss the surface

Identify the area, existing finish, access and intended use with the client. Determine any further assessment through your trade process, then describe what the estimate includes and excludes.

  2. Set out the proposed system

List preparation, repairs and the selected finish in the estimate. Check your own quantities and material suitability before ordering, and agree any changes to color or scope before work begins.

  3. Follow the installation sequence

Use the appointments to organize crew visits and note the work completed. Add costs and hours as they arise, revising the planned return directly with the client when site conditions change.

  4. Finish the business handover

Review the completed scope and invoice with the client. Share the PDF and record money received, while providing product care and return-to-use guidance through your professional handover process.

A few useful answers

Questions from epoxy flooring contractors.

Will Microtra calculate resin quantities?

No. Calculate requirements using measured areas, the product manufacturer's guidance and your assessment of the substrate. Enter the resulting items and quantities into an estimate. The app does not model coverage, waste, mix ratios or the performance of a coating.

Can I record a separate preparation visit?

Yes. Job appointments can represent the visits you plan, with staff assigned to the work. Determine the interval between stages yourself; the software does not test the surface or decide when the next coat should be applied.

Which terminology comes with setup?

Trades & construction starts with Job, Client and Properties. A linked property can hold the site context, while job notes describe the specific floor. Keep specialist test results and technical product documentation in the appropriate professional records.

Does an invoice prove the floor is ready?

No. An invoice records the agreed charges and payments, not a technical acceptance or cure assessment. Decide readiness through your inspection and product guidance, then explain the completed work and any remaining limitations directly to the client.
