Software for dog walking business owners
Keep the door instructions as close as the walk time.
For a dog walker, the visit begins with safe access and a clear understanding of the agreed walk. Weather, collection arrangements and an owner's changed plans can all affect the day. Microtra keeps appointments beside the Job and assigned staff so you can organize visits yourself, with the contact and practical instructions available for the next handoff.
Make room for the real work.
- Regular neighborhood walk
- Solo walk by agreement
- Puppy comfort visit
- Collection from a shared entrance
- Walk with a changed access arrangement
- Return and owner handoff
How it works.
Capture the agreement without assuming a pet register
Other setup uses Job and Client, with linked records off. Record the owner contact, address and agreed walk in the Job notes. Include useful context such as the dog's name, harness location and handoff arrangement through your own information-handling process. A dedicated linked Pets record is not part of this setup.
See the clients featurePlace the visit with realistic working time
Add an appointment linked to the Job and assign staff after reviewing working hours and time off. You decide the time needed for access, fitting the agreed equipment, the walk and return. Microtra does not provide GPS tracking or route optimization; check travel and the order of visits through your own planning process.
See the jobs featureMake the next walker's instructions usable
Use tasks and notes to record what was agreed for the visit and what changed. Distinguish a routine instruction from a question that still needs the owner's reply. Manage animal welfare and emergency procedures yourself; the appointment record supports coordination but does not assess a dog's suitability for a particular walk or group.
See the jobs featureMove recurring work deliberately
Create and adjust the visits you agree with the owner rather than assuming a repeating arrangement manages itself. When access or weather changes the plan, contact the owner and review the surrounding work before moving an appointment. Keep the agreed service details for the invoice, share its PDF from your device and record payment received elsewhere.

Useful answers.
Will recurring walks appear without me arranging them?
Recurring visits are managed by the owner. Create the appointments you have agreed and review changes directly with the client. This page does not promise automatic visit generation or weather-based rescheduling, so check that the diary reflects the actual dates and access arrangements you confirmed.
Can clients see a live map of the walk?
Microtra does not provide GPS tracking, route optimization or a live walk map. The client portal is coming soon. This workflow covers the business schedule and Job context; share the visit update through the communication process you already use with the owner.
Where do I keep dog-specific instructions?
Use the Job notes for the administrative context needed for the visit, following your own responsible handling process. Other setup starts without linked pet records. Keep any specialist animal care information or emergency plan in the appropriate procedure rather than assuming a general work note replaces it.
Can owners book or change walks through a public page?
Public online booking is coming soon. Other setup also starts without booking services. Agree walks and changes directly, then update the Job appointment yourself and contact anyone affected. Review access, the walker assigned and nearby work before confirming the revised visit.
Keep exploring.
